Karolina’s top 10 Albums of 2011

While it hasn’t been a banner year for album releases, per se (or shows, for that matter), there have been a handful of amazing gems that came out this year. Here’s my top 10, without explanation, because if you’re not listening to these bands, I have to safely assume your top 10 is more like the typical radio top 40, so this doesn’t really apply to you.

One ranking best, here are my picks:

1) Helplessness Blues, Fleet Foxes (also Show of the Year)

2) Let England Shake, PJ Harvey

3) What Did You Expect from the Vaccines, The Vaccines

4) So Beautiful or So What, Paul Simon

5) Ashes & Fire, Ryan Adams

6) Mirror Traffic, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks

7) Circuital, My Morning Jacket

8) Metals, Fiest

9) Creep on Creepin’ On, Timber Timbre

10) Hollow, Cut Off Your Hands

Honourable mentions:

Not to be forgotten, these albums also rocked my socks off this year:

Elsie, Horrible Crowes

El Camino, Black Keys

No Witch, Cave Singers

Sound Kapital, Handsome Furs

Tosta Mista, Hooded Fang
